Happy Friday! We're heading down to Newport for a little weekend getaway in one of our favorite coastal towns. We've had several fabulous off-season visits to Newport in the past and it will be fun to return with our little boy! Here are a few of my favorite things from a very wet week in April, whether you're making the most of April showers or planning for sunny days ahead.
- I've said it before and I'll say it again, Ralph Lauren makes the prettiest silk georgette dresses, and I love that most of them are florals, which are so much more forgiving than solid colored silk. My red batik floral dress above is on sale and so effortlessly pretty for a dinner date.
- Our little boy LOVES the beach, even on cold spring days. He's going to be extra obsessed when it's warm and sunny. I'm getting ready for summer spent with toes in the sand by stockpiling swimsuits. This u-bandeau swimsuit looks like my favorite style from splurge-y French brand Eres, but is 1/5th the price. I just got it in navy and it's so chic! (Also love the black version and this one shoulder style!) All of which are on major sale with code "Seaside".
- Other 5 star swim favorites include this smocked suit (size up), this white suit and this tropical bikini!
- I LOVE Ann Mashburn's shirting. The prettiest fabrics in super wearable silhouettes, I own two of her white oxford boyfriend shirts and wear them all the time. They kindly sent me this striped popover shirt in sky stripe. Somehow the popover is more effortless than a traditional button up, and looks very clean tucked in. Contemplating the navy gingham, and swiss dot I love this style so much! (I do recommend sizing up though!)
- On the topic of Ann, I got these mules in raffia and they're such a cute effortless shoe. The kind you keep by the door to make even a t-shirt and jeans look like an outfit.
- I've been reaching for this blue and white robe while getting ready in the morning and it's just the thing to throw on after a shower or while I do my hair. (I also LOVE this seersucker set - got it in yellow!)
- We've spent quite a few rainy afternoons baking recently, and I just replaced our much loved cookie sheets with these non-toxic baking sheets and they're FAB - extra excited as the blue color perfectly matches our kitchen cabinets!
- Packing my toiletries for Newport was a breeze thanks to these chic travel containers! Our baby boy also finds them highly entertaining (they magnetically snap to each other) and are 20% off for the rest of the month - win win!
- J.Crew is running a $75 denim sale through the weekend, which is 50% off most of their jeans! My favorite button fly 90s jeans are included, and I'm snagging this patch pocket pair to try as well.
- The daffodils I planted last fall are 6" tall and ready to bloom any day now and our hydrangeas have a few green shoots too! I'm ridiculously excited about these slip on rubber moccasins for weekends in the garden this spring and summer, and for slipping on when it's just too wet for normal footwear!
- Finding loafers for David can be tough, but he loves these so much we just bought two more pairs as backups. A really nice color and silhouette that works with his favorite chino pants and shorts! He also owns and loves this sweater polo so much he has it in every color. (A great option when he wants the comfort of a t shirt but needs to look put together!)
